This year, the theme for World Language Week is “Learn a Language & Form a Connection.” Be sure to catch a commercial on the Falcon Report this Monday to kick off the week!
Throughout the week, the library will showcase student “Who I Am…” projects from College Italian and College Spanish classes. The first-floor hallway will display a Word Wall featuring 24 languages, along with the winning banners and posters from the schoolwide contest, as well as student-made flags around the school. In the cafeteria, the menu will highlight foods from various cultures. During lunch periods, Language Honor Society members will distribute fun worksheets. Music played during class transitions will feature a mix of different languages as well as FIFA songs.
Monday 3/10: Wear and represent your culture’s attire during the day! Morning announcements will be in Creole. After school, there will be a Film Festival with Henna in the library. In the world language wing, there will be a Selfie Station.
Tuesday 3/11: Morning announcements will be in Spanish. There will be crafts in the library after school for World Craft Day. In the stairwells, faculty will post secret messages.
Wednesday 3/12: Morning announcements will be in Gujarati. There will be a Student Scavenger Hunt on language class doors.
Thursday 3/13: Morning announcements will be in Urdu. There will be Spelling Bees in language classes.
Friday 3/14: The Falcon Report will feature a recap of all the events from the week.
